CARJACKER ARRESTED AND INDICTED

Memphis, TN - David Kustoff, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, announced today that WILLIAM LEACH, age 45, has been arrested and indicted for a carjacking occurring in Memphis on April 25, 2006. LEACH was arrested by authorities in Sikeston, Missouri, on April 27, 2006. LEACH faces a maximum of 15 years imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $250,000.

The case was investigated by the Robbery Bureau of the Memphis Police Department and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Tony Arvin.
