On Friday, October 17, 2008, Larry Brown, age 47, of Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested at a relative’s residence in Memphis , without incident or injury, by members of the Safe Streets Task Force. Brown is being detained locally in connection with the armed robbery of the First Bank, located at 6482 Poplar Ave, which was robbed on October 10, 2008.

In that robbery, a lone suspect entered the bank, demanded money from a teller and threatened her with a handgun. The suspect fled on foot eastbound on Poplar Avenue with an undetermined amount of federally-insured funds.

This case is being investigated by the Safe Streets Task Force which is a multi agency unit which is comprised of Memphis Police Department, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Agents of the FBI.
